Cable Repair 4 Opt

Cambridge East Grid

The proposed new electricity substation for Cambridge East will increase the capacity of the electricity network and maintain reliable supplies for homes and businesses in the area. It will not be generating electricity, it will be transforming it from 33,000 volts to 11,000 volts.

The proposed location, which is shown on the plan below, is to the west of Cherry Hinton Road and north of the Babraham Park and Ride site, as shown on our plan.

Investigative works will be taking place on site for two weeks from 16 April 2024.

The full details of the proposals are not yet online but will be from 10th May 2024. At that point, a feedback form will be available on our website for you complete and to let us know what you think.

Full details of the proposal will be posted online from 10 May 2024 along with a feedback form for you to send us your comments.
